Welcome

Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge, social capital, and the psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work, career, or professional development - Bozeman, Feeney, 2007.Many job seekers with disabilities are often adversely affected by a lack of employment networks. As a result, many job seekers with disabilities are often challenged to develop business networks to create and explore opportunities for employment, to find and keep jobs, advance their careers, or develop skills to enter specific occupational fields. Consequently, Rotarians in District 7010 have developed an employment mentorship program specifically for persons with disabilities to enhance potential employment relationships and networks.

The Mentorship Project for Job Seekers with Disabilities will serve as a bridge between the disability community and Rotarians with the goal of increasing the participation of people with disabilities in the workforce. This project will serve as a model and foundation for Rotary Clubs in District 7010 and beyond including advising and producing resources for Rotarians throughout the province, across Canada, and abroad.
